Are you highly motivated, able to work under pressure, and have a strong understanding in Equity derivatives markets? Are you passionate about building and fostering client relationships, particularly within the Markets and Securities Services domain? What you will do :

The Head of Equity Derivatives Sales, Continental Europe is based within Institutional sales in France. The role is to lead and manage the Equity Derivatives Team in Frabenelux covering all Equity Derivatives products.

In this role you will :

  • Be responsible to oversee and manage all institutional client relationships and identify sales opportunities related to Equity Derivatives.
  • Manage the various dedicated sales teams in each of those products, ensuring that the product partners as well as the various regional and global stakeholders are aligned.
  • Drive collaboration with other internal businesses within Markets and Securities Services as well as other areas within the Group Global Banking, Private Banking and CMB.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that appropriate resourcing of the teams is being followed as well as communicating on key product dependencies to ensure success on strategic initiatives.
  • Identify cross product synergies that can be gained between advisory sales, sales trading, equity derivatives and equity prime sales while ensuring that appropriate segregation of information is maintained where needed.
  • The role is one that requires a sales mandate including certification of certain industry standards on derivatives and regulatory certifications like NFA Swaps Proficiency exam to be allowed to supervise derivatives mandated sales.
  • Work and deliver on a business plan that will have been developed in conjunction with the various stakeholders' plans on product and platform innovation.

Leadership :

  • Deliver sustainable and profitable growth in the equity revenues from CE client base to the Group on a year-on-year basis.
  • Develop and communicate a powerful and compelling vision that inspires and engages people with the HSBC Values and goals as the basis of an inclusive, high performance, customer-centered culture.
  • Lead, develop and motivate the leadership team to attract, retain and develop the capacity, capability and talent to provide for succession and ensure delivery of business objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of and implementing an overall European equity strategy and vision for the team in line with Institutional Sales and overall Markets and Securities Services strategy.
  • Implement client and sales Equity strategies that further the business agenda and drive enhanced revenue generation.
  • Provide clients with a fit for purpose, relevant and commercial proposition and product offering that utilizes HSBC’s global equity footprint and local knowledge.
  • Drive product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment, whilst meeting the Group conduct outcomes.
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure our conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
  • A core element of the Group strategy to prevent financial crime (Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Controls). As such, the standards and ethos need to be embedded in all current and new business solutions.
  • The role requires a thorough understanding of the front to back control environment and the role needs to ensure the leadership tone and operational processes uphold the highest standards of front office supervisory standards across the team.

Requirements

  • University Degree or advanced qualifications and equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an Institutional Sales role with very good understanding of the equity product across its different formats.
  • Strong understanding of Markets and Securities Services business and ability to work in a matrix organization.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Institutional client relationships.
  • Certain industry licenses will be required NFA Swaps Proficiency exam.
