About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly creative Lead Weapon Designer to join our team in developing a groundbreaking FPS title. This role is critical to shaping the core combat experience, creating weapons that are not only functional but add depth and excitement to gameplay. As the Lead Weapon Designer, you will design and implement unique, high-impact weapon mechanics that align with the game's vision and enhance player immersion.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype, and fine-tune a variety of weapons that align with the game's FPS mechanics, focusing on balance, player experience, and combat flow.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and engineers to ensure weapon mechanics integrate seamlessly into gameplay and are visually and technically polished.
  • Develop a cohesive weapon design strategy that enhances player engagement and adds strategic depth to the game.
  • Iterate on weapon designs based on player feedback, testing results, and internal review to ensure weapons are fun, balanced, and impactful.
  • Create detailed design documents, including specs and functionality descriptions for each weapon, to guide the development and implementation processes.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, incorporating innovative weapon mechanics and design techniques that resonate with the FPS audience.

Requirements:

  • AAA FPS Experience: Proven track record in weapon design on AAA FPS titles, with a strong portfolio demonstrating innovative and impactful weapon mechanics.
  • Deep Understanding of Weapon Mechanics: Strong knowledge of FPS game dynamics, player psychology, and combat flow.
  • Design Portfolio: Evidence of past work on successful AAA FPS weapon systems, showcasing your ability to create engaging and well-balanced weapons.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, artists, and developers, to bring weapon designs to life.
  • Innovative Mindset: Passionate about creating unique weapon experiences that enhance gameplay and player engagement.
