Job summary
Be responsible for designing menus UX (wireframes, layout & info presentations, navigation & usability functions, menus structure hierarchy and flow) for new or revamped systems, and designing their UI visuals skins and creating their assets with the UI artist.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the Creative Director to achieve the creative vision for user interfaces and menus presentation.
- Lead the UX/UI designs and their implementation for all game menus and user interfaces.
- Define and propose the best user experience for user interfaces, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Manage the UI assets creation pipeline and coordinate asset creation with the UI artist.
- Lead the UX/UI team of designers and artists.
- Create and maintain up-to-date UX and UI design documentation.
- Direct the creation of artworks/illustrations for menus and promotional assets.
- Create rapid prototypes and mockups of menus and interfaces.
- Participate in playtests to observe user behavior and iterate on UX design.
- Ensure an excellent UX/UI experience across all platforms/devices.
- Oversee the final implementation of all user interface features.
- Collaborate with other teams (content design, system design, art & animation, gameplay programming).
- Set and share best practices in design, creation, documentation, and workflows.
- Participate in finding solutions to fix buggy features and optimize systems.
Relevant experience, skills and knowledge
- Passionate about playing and making games.
- In-depth knowledge of the game industry, especially top RPG games in the F2P & GaaS genre.
- Understanding of mobile players’ behaviors and business model trends.
- Strong understanding of the full development cycle of a game.
- Strong graphic design background with artistic skills.
- Extensive knowledge of UI graphic design and prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, Figma, etc.).
- Familiar with animation tools for creating animated UI mockups.
- Knowledge of UI/UX best practices for games and applications design.
- Experience as a UX/UI designer in a lead role on at least one shipped game.
- Significant experience (at least 5 years) in video game development as a UX/UI designer.
- Experience in leading and developing a team of UI/UX designers and artists.
- Creative, flexible, open to feedback, and a good team player.
- Ability to communicate complex game info simply through smart UI designs.
- Ability to collaborate with other designers and artists.
- Attention to detail and organized working habits.
- Fluent in English.
- Knowledge of The Division IP and its universe is a plus.
- Experience with Unreal Engine and Unity UI workflows is a plus.
- Knowledge of mobile platform development is a plus.
