Result of Service
The result of services is to support UNEP Cities Unit to develop a global program and partnership on Local Energy System Integration for an Affordable & Resilient Energy Transition that will bring together workstreams on cooling, buildings, district energy, transport, renewables and energy transition, and provide technical assistance to countries on integrated, sustainable and local energy system planning and implementation, with focus on the role of city and regional integrated energy planning. This will include project management support, research and drafting contributions to a global UNEP publication on implementing integrated, sustainable energy systems in cities. The Junior Urban Energy Expert will also assist in the development of a global partnership on urban energy, including partner engagement, identification and engagement with champion cities and governments, contributions to regional and global events on the subject matter, preparations of presentation, outreach and training materials and project communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support UNEP Cities Unit in developing a global program and partnership.
2. Assist in project management and research for UNEP publications.
3. Engage with partner cities and governments.
4. Prepare outreach and training materials.
