Junior Data Scientist

Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Data Scientist with a solid academic foundation in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics and a genuine interest in financial markets and economics. Ideal candidates may not have extensive professional experience but should possess foundational knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or Elixir, and an appreciation for modern presentational technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply statistical analysis and predictive modelling techniques to financial datasets.
• Support real-time data processing systems for financial applications.
• Utilize programming languages (Python, R, Elixir) to analyze and visualize financial and economic data.
• Develop and maintain databases using SQL for effective data management and analysis.
• Collaborate closely with senior team members to create insightful, data-driven presentations and reports.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative discipline.
• Strong interest in financial markets, economics, and data science.
• Basic knowledge or exposure to Python, R, or Elixir.
• Interest and familiarity with databases, SQL, and data management practices.
• Appreciation for creating clear and visually appealing presentations.

Bonus

• Use visualization tools and libraries (e.g., D3.js, Vega Light, Python-based visualization tools).
• Contribute to developing interactive and real-time web applications involving financial data.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML/CSS).
• Interest in real-time financial data streaming services and APIs.
