Join LGI Sustainable Innovation for a Real Impact
Do you want to work in sustainable innovation? Whether at the city scale or on international levels, our projects help address challenges related to climate change, natural resource depletion, and biodiversity loss. If these issues resonate with you, then this opportunity is for you!
Your role
The Innovation Strategy business unit is looking for its future junior consultant in sustainable innovation with a focus on biodiversity/nature-based solutions!
As a junior consultant, you will be working on several European research & innovation projects within the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programs, as well as client assignments (for startups, corporates, institutions, local authorities, etc.).
The variety of missions for this position requires an agile profile, with the ability to work in different sectors including priority biodiversity and nature-based solutions (soil health and remediation, sustainable agriculture & forestry, nature finance, nature tech, etc.), and as a plus on LGI key sectors: circular economy, low-carbon energies, climate adaptation and mitigation, and resilient/decarbonized cities. You will also contribute to LGI internal activities.
You will join the Innovation Strategy team composed of 13 LGIers (junior, confirmed, and senior consultants, as well as occasional interns), Joanne, the BU manager, and Thomas, the BU deputy.
You will also work with other LGI business units (Management, Tech, Communication) when your project involves their teams.
As a Sustainable Innovation Strategist At LGI
Under the general supervision of the Innovation Strategy team manager and deputy, you will be involved in the following activities (the list is not exhaustive) on European collaborative projects and client assignments:
The position may require working on any of these activities, but the first projects for this job will include tasks such as developing socio-economic models for nature-based solutions (NbS), local value perception analysis, stakeholder engagement for Soil Living Lab initiatives, creating business models for soil remediation services, and evaluating the socio-economic impacts of NbS across various European contexts, social return on investment analyses, and contributing to sustainable road mapping and implementation plans.
A strong interest in topics related to Biodiversity, Nature-based solutions, and Soil is expected.
The position also involves contributing to internal activities (capacity building, knowledge management, dissemination, etc.).
The job will require regular short trips in France, Europe, or internationally.
