Volta Medical is an innovative, data-inspired US and European-based startup aimed at creating and bringing to the market cutting-edge AI software products to revolutionize interventional cardiac electrophysiology.
Volta has created a data collection and enrichment ecosystem for curated EP lab data which is fed into a physician validated, machine learning methodology to support complex AF solutions. Our newest technology, Volta AF-Xplorer, is a data-driven AI decision support system that easily integrates into the standard physician workflow, providing a patient-tailored approach to complex AF and AT procedures.
Our dynamic, innovative team is made up of 140 collaborators in the EU and USA from a wide variety of backgrounds including engineers, business professionals and physicians, working together to develop AI solutions that help electrophysiologists help patients.

Missions
- We are looking for an experienced individual to act as our IT Director. Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Define the IT strategy aligned with the company's goals: develop an IT roadmap supporting business objectives.
- Plan and manage the IT budget: allocate resources and control expenditures.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of IT infrastructure: ensure robustness, scalability, and efficiency.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of systems and networks: monitor system performance and implement security measures.
- Establish security policies to protect sensitive data: develop and enforce IT security policies and conduct audits.
- Manage IT risks and ensure compliance with regulations: identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Supervise the development and deployment of internal and external applications: oversee the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure regular maintenance and updates of applications: schedule updates and address issues promptly.
- Recruit, train, and mentor IT team members: build a skilled team and provide professional development.
- Implement effective technical support for internal users: develop a responsive IT support system.
- Ensure quick resolution of technical issues: establish troubleshooting procedures.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies that can benefit the company: stay updated on industry trends and assess new technologies.
- Implement innovation projects to improve processes and products: lead technology integration initiatives.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the company's IT projects: define project scopes and manage timelines and budgets.
- Ensure adherence to deadlines and allocated budgets: monitor progress and report to stakeholders.
- Work closely with R&D, QARA, Marketing, Field, Operations, Legal and other teams to align IT initiatives with business needs: collaborate to understand and support IT requirements.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams: translate technical concepts and ensure clear communication.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with IT service and solution providers: select vendors and manage performance.
- Ensure the quality and reliability of services provided: monitor vendor services and address issues.
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of IT systems and processes: document configurations and procedures.
- Provide regular reports to management on the status of systems and IT projects: prepare and present IT performance and project reports.
Profile
- You have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- You have relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL).
- You have 10 to 15 years in IT, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
- Experience in medical devices or regulated industries is preferred.
- You have a background in startups or rapidly growing companies.
- You have expertise in managing and optimizing IT infrastructure (networks, servers, databases).
- You have strengths in cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- You have proven leadership and team management.
- You have expertise in project planning and execution.
- You have excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams.
- You have strategic IT planning aligned with business goals.
- You have strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- You have a collaborative nature with cross-functional teams.
- You have adaptability to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
