Job Summary

As our Debt Capital Market (DCM) team is expanding, we are looking for an Intern to join us in our Paris office. The internship lasts 6 months and is likely to start in June/July 2025.
The main tasks will include:

  1. Help support the continued growth of the SSA, European Financial Institutions and corporate DCM business by supporting both teams with their day-to-day activities. These include: understanding how the team operates and what the requirements are of these clients, staying abreast of market and regulatory developments with a focus on EU countries as well as the US and Asia where one of SCB’s key investor bases is based, helping the team with the production of pitch materials and client presentations and helping generate trade ideas.
  2. Understand and contribute proactively to the bank’s business strategy of servicing clients by leveraging our footprint and building franchise with a focus on EU-based banks, insurance companies and corporations as well as supra-nationals.
  3. Ensure communication with other teams within capital markets as well as coverage, Financial Markets sales and the legal and compliance teams.
  4. Regular production of pricing indications, market updates and pitch materials.
  5. Provide continuously best in class service to our clients through the materials we produce to help build further the financial markets franchise particularly with EU clients.
  6. Proactive engagement and timely delivery of relevant market intelligence. Always respond to requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Drive/follow current macro-economic and fiscal themes, developments in currency and financial markets, understand implications for our business and for our clients.
  8. Become familiar with the bank’s risk profile and appetite and understand DCM processes as well as the steps the team required to undertake from a legal and compliance perspective before undertaking a DCM transaction.
Skills and Experience

This internship is open for students, BAC+4/5 from French “Ecole de Commerce” or University who:

  1. are enrolled in a Finance, Economics, Business or Engineering degree programme (or similar) from a business or engineering school in France.
  2. have strong financial background combined with analytical capabilities.
  3. have good communication skills in French and English, oral and written.
  4. bring team spirit, enthusiasm, curiosity, flexibility as well as strong attention to detail.
  5. are able to take initiative leading progressively to autonomy on some specific tasks including market updates and putting together presentations for clients.
  6. are familiar with MS office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point).
