The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Inbound Transportation, the Inbound Transportation Analyst is responsible for supporting domestic inbound operations for Sephora, including managing and optimizing domestic transportation processes, analyzing exceptions, evaluating carrier performance, and ensuring compliance with HAZMAT regulations. This individual will provide tactical support in managing carrier and supplier performance through reporting, addressing exceptions, and collaborating with Suppliers, Carriers, and Distribution Centers.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with the Sephora Inbound Team to maintain goals and processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with service providers and internal and external partners.
  • Expedite, escalate, and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
  • Prepare and maintain regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including exception rates, claim resolutions, and carrier performance.
  • Maintain HAZMAT compliance for transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and government DOT/FAA regulations and HAZMAT requirements.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing exception incidents and propose actionable solutions.
  • Develop strategies to minimize future occurrences of exceptions.
  • Process carrier freight claims from research to settlement.
  • Maintain a database for tracking and reporting on damage claims status and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with carriers to manage on-time performance, inbound security, and other measures of accuracy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience in working with a transportation system and/or ability to quickly develop proficiency in such systems.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work seamlessly with numerous cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and tactical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with a high sense of urgency, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand other functions of the business as they apply to the role.
  • Proven ability to produce results efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress, deadline-driven work environment.
  • Ability to escalate issues for resolution, efficiencies, and cost savings.
  • BA/BS degree strongly preferred.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience working in Logistics and Forwarding management.
  • Previous experience with distribution centers and foreign suppliers and providers preferred.
  • Previous experience or ability to quickly develop proficiency with transportation systems.
  • Logistics systems user experience (TMS, WMS, Freight Optimization, Load Planning) preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is $61,795.00 - $75,715.00. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; and other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
