Housing Stability Worker, Street Level Women at Risk (SLWAR) Direct Service (OPSEU) Full-Time, Contract (End Date: August 26, 2025) London, Ontario (London Zone) - Application Deadline: March 27, 2025. The Housing Stability Worker supports street involved sex workers to achieve housing stability through intensive in-home support for a caseload of high acuity participants.

Some of the other duties include connecting participants to services and assisting participants to transition into their housing and community.

The Housing Stability Worker reports to the Program Manager, Managing Director and the Executive Director of the funded agency.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

What you’ll be making: Starting rate for this role is $26.74 per hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential based on regulation ($29.57 per hour for Level 1 – Direct Service, Regulated). Successful candidates who are registered with one of the designated professional colleges (e.g., OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) will receive the wage differential for regulation. Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($33.90 per hour for non-regulated, and $36.71 per hour for regulated). For internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement.

When you'll work: 70 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday day shifts, including occasional weekend days.

Your pension plan: Optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

1. Provide intensive case management including regular, continuous contact with the client.
2. Apply documented, structured case planning with identified goals to ensure client interactions have objectives and are outcome-oriented.
3. Work cooperatively with the Street Level Women at Risk collaborative agencies and other supports involved with the clients’ ongoing care.
4. Advocate with other system elements, accompany clients to appointments, provide proactive crisis planning, organize meaningful daily activity opportunities, and liaise with Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program.
5. Connect the client with appropriate services or supports based on their needs, including physical healthcare, mental healthcare, addiction services, trauma services, vocational assessment and training, employment, volunteer and social-recreational opportunities.
6. Facilitate community integration and linkages to “mainstream” community resources (libraries, community centres, recreation, etc.).
7. Connect clients to other long or short-term formal and informal supports.
8. Prepare and plan for “homelessness proofing” and re-housing.
9. Includes recognizing and averting indicators that may de-stabilize a client’s housing and focus on what worked when re-housing a client.
10. Apply a collaborative approach to case planning and record keeping.
11. Collect and record demographic information and maintain detailed case notes, case management plans and contact lists of involved supports and community services using the integrated data management program.
12. Support landlords as necessary in conjunction with the Housing Selection Worker and the client.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements: Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months.

Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

We require the following qualifications:

1. Only female applicants will be considered due to a bona fide occupational requirement of this position and program.
2. Post-secondary education in social services or related field (Primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process, i.e., original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript).
3. Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle with adequate insurance to carry out job duties.
4. Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly.

We prefer the following qualifications:

1. Experience working in addiction and mental health field (2 years) and supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
2. Training and experience using Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool (SPDAT) and the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS).
3. Experience working in community outreach.
4. First Aid / CPR.
5. Knowledge of community resources.
6. Crisis intervention and prevention training.
7. Applied Suicide Interventions Skills and Training.
