ABOUT THE ROLE

The Team

The Core Technology and Architecture team's mission is to drive innovation and operational excellence by advancing architectural and platform engineering practices.

The team is organized in three verticals:

1. Foundations oversees technical stacks and environments.
2. Solutions builds and operates services that enhance the overall technology experience.
3. Platform fosters engineering best practices for business processes across various departments.

CFM is looking for an experienced and talented Head of Platform Engineering to lead its Platform vertical.

The Mission

The Head of Platform Engineering plays a pivotal role in providing self-service APIs, tools, services, and practices to meet present and future demands related to delivery, scalability, security, and reliability of the organization's platform, in collaboration with the other Heads of Platform (Data, Machine Learning, Portfolio, Alpha Generation).

This role requires strategic oversight and implementation of policies, methodologies, and technologies ensuring that the CFM platforms are future-proof and aligned with the CFM's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Management: Lead and develop a team of Cloud, Dev-Sec-Ops, and Platform Engineers, fostering a culture of service, business partnership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Technical Leadership: Keep abreast of industry trends and advocate for state-of-the-art techniques and best practices within the organization.
• Security & Compliance: Work with the Security and Compliance teams to meet internal and regulatory requirements.
• Operational Excellence: Optimize platform operations, automate processes, step up software supply chain, and establish KPIs for performance and cost monitoring.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields.
• Over 15 years in engineering and architecture, with 5+ years in leadership.
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience in managing hybrid environments, adopting cloud technologies, and designing developer-driven platforms.
• Expertise in Python, related numerical frameworks, and environment management.
• Advanced skills in platform engineering tools and techniques, including CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Experience in security best practices for cloud and on-premises.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A passion for learning new technologies and methodologies.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) can be advantageous.
