We are looking for a Head of Finance Operations, based in Paris.

Your Team

Our team is committed to perform Credit Control activities in the French branch of Allianz Commercial, with responsibility of accounts reconciliation, bad debt provisioning and ensuring payment commitments to counterparties are fulfilled in a timely manner. The role also entails managing a team of experienced Credit Controllers responsible for various types of business (including Captives) within Allianz Commercial.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to Finance Operations Europe of Allianz Commercial, you will join an international environment and handle a team of Credit Controllers (onshore and offshore) responsible for reconciling external/non-affiliate accounts with clients, brokers, insurance companies, etc. The main purpose of your role will be to provide accurate accounting administration and cash flow management regarding quality, quantity, and adherence to delivery dates concerning insurance business with Allianz Commercial clients, local brokers, and insurers. Additionally, you will also be responsible to manage payment transactions and bank account reconciliation.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  1. Lead and manage team (direct reports + matrix responsibility), providing guidance on strategic alignment and setting clear, challenging targets.
  2. Drive organizational setup for the area, including personnel selection and budget management, while ensuring team priorities are met.
  3. Coach and develop employees in a dynamic environment, empowering them to work independently and fostering desired behaviors according to company standards.
  4. Document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas, ensuring compliance with audit and statutory requirements.
  5. Contribute to global process and policy improvements, drafting standards to enhance quality and efficiency.
  6. Oversee accurate and timely Credit Control end to end activities and reporting, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
  7. Manage local relationships with 3rd parties (auditors, tax authorities, etc.) and handle assigned project work.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

  1. In-depth knowledge of local Credit Control tasks and value chain. Knowledge of local GAAP, IAS/IFRS, regulatory, tax requirements, and Allianz accounting policies for reporting and compliance.
  2. Ensure compliance in closing and reporting, with a focus on internal/external requirements and capital management.
  3. Proficient in IT and office applications for effective data analysis.
  4. Experience managing complex processes, including closing, reporting, and finance operations, with a strong understanding of data flows.
  5. Prior experience in insurance accounting, particularly within the relevant area of responsibility.
  6. Previous leadership experience in developing small teams within a global/matrix environment.
  7. Ability to lead change in scenarios like restructuring, integration, and mature growth markets, alongside strong problem-solving and project management skills.
