Job Purpose

The EMEA Finance Head will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations within the EMEA region and manage a team of finance professionals. Your expertise and leadership will be essential in guiding the team towards achieving our financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Lead and manage a team of finance professionals in the EMEA region, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
2. In charge of the Monthly Reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting and Long-Range Plan processes in coordination with the business regional functions.
3. Provide strategic financial guidance to the EMEA organization, supporting decision-making processes.
4. Oversee the finance financial reporting for the EMEA region, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, analysis, and consolidation of financial statements.
5. Identify key financial trends, variances, and areas of improvement, and provide actionable insights to drive performance.
6. Monitor working capital, providing recommendations to optimize financial resources and mitigate risks.
7. Support as needed internal/external audits.
8. Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and proactively communicate any changes to the finance team.
9. Develop and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, Operations, HR, Tax and Legal, to support strategic initiatives and drive business growth.
11. Be an active member of the Finance Global Rare Disease Leadership Team and the EMEA leadership team.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA qualification is preferred.

Required Skills And Experience

1. Proven experience in a senior finance role, preferably as a Finance Regional Controller or a similar global/regional position within a pharma multinational organization.

Technical Competencies

1. Proficiency in financial systems and tools (SAP, Hyperion, etc.) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards (IFRS, US GAAP).

1. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
2. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
3. Strong Business acumen, proactive and with agile mindset.
4. Proven Leadership in managing finance teams, providing guidance, and driving performance.
5. Ability to work collaboratively, multitask, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Languages

Fluent in English and French with proficiency in additional languages being advantageous.

Travel required in %

The position is based in Paris (and can be held from another of our offices, be it Basel, London or Milan, which requires regular travel to Paris). You will be reporting to the Head of Finance for RRD and dotted line to the VP of EMEA Region for Rare Diseases.
