TGRC is looking for an experienced Head of Construction to oversee the construction of large-scale renewable energy projects throughout France. The Green Recruitment Company is partnered with a leading renewable energy company dedicated to creating a sustainable future through the development and implementation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction activities for solar PV and BESS projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and project management to develop comprehensive construction plans.
3. Oversee the selection, negotiation, and management of construction contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and safety regulations.
4. Provide guidance and support to construction teams, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement in construction processes.
5. Implement rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure that construction activities meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
6. Monitor construction progress, conduct site inspections, and address any deviations from specifications or standards.
7. Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across construction sites, implementing best practices to minimize risks and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
8. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
9. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders including local communities, regulatory agencies, and utility partners, fostering positive relationships and addressing any concerns or issues proactively.
10. Represent the company in meetings, public forums, and negotiations related to construction activities.
11. Develop and manage construction budgets, tracking expenditures and providing regular reports to senior management.
12. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize construction costs without compromising quality or safety.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on renewable energy projects, particularly solar PV and BESS.
3. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion in the renewable energy sector.
4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
5. In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
7. Fluency in French and English; additional languages a plus.
8. Willingness to travel extensively within France as required.
