Job Title: Head of Global Business Development – APIs & Oncology Molecules

A global pharmaceutical manufacturer specialising in small molecules, complex APIs, and oncology products is seeking a seasoned commercial leader to head its global business development efforts. With a strong manufacturing footprint and a diverse portfolio serving both regulated and emerging markets, this company is looking to further expand its commercial presence across Europe and the Rest of the World (ROW).
This is a senior, strategic role responsible for leading a team, developing global partnerships, and driving revenue growth through the sale of complex APIs and high-value oncology molecules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the global business development strategy with a core focus on Europe and ROW markets
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing business development team
- Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers at pharmaceutical and biotech companies
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for the sale of small molecules, APIs, and oncology assets
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, regulatory, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on client needs and capabilities
- Negotiate and close complex commercial agreements, including licensing and supply contracts
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to refine go-to-market strategies
- Represent the company at global industry conferences and client meetings
Required Experience:
- Extensive experience in international business development within the pharmaceutical or CDMO sector
- Proven track record of selling APIs and oncology molecules, ideally in complex or regulated markets
- Strong commercial network across Europe and ROW territories
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage pipelines, and close high-value deals
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker with an operational mindset and hands-on approach
