A leading international electronic components manufacturer is currently recruiting a Business Development Manager to work in their Paris office.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities based on action plan and developing relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have strong business development skills, experience in the connector industry, and excellent negotiation abilities.

Business Development Manager Main Responsibilities:

  1. Business development with named Distribution accounts
  2. Prospect actively for new business development opportunities with prospective/new customers/distributors
  3. Establish sales target plans, midterm, yearly and monthly, by customer, by sales team
  4. Develop a sales strategy and sales activities for the responsible target customers
  5. Establish an action plan to achieve the targets
  6. Analyse results versus budget/target and initiate corrective action plan
  7. Develop and follow-up new and existing projects
  8. Negotiate commercial contracts including all conditions (e.g. Pricing, payment terms, etc.)
  9. Negotiate other (legal) documents such as NDA with customers and prospects
  10. Support the Finance department to collect outstanding receivables
  11. Support the Quality Control department in order to communicate quickly and adequately in case of quality issues or other complaints
  12. Support the Marketing team to collect necessary customer and market data
  13. Train, support and work closely together with the Inside Sales Team
  14. Perform all necessary communication and correspondence with customers
  15. Perform ongoing communication with Headquarters in Japan
  16. Coordinate 'transfer' business outside the area of responsibility with the 'transfer-in'- location
  17. Prepare various reports, such as customer visit reports, monthly (sales) reports, 3 months rolling forecast and constant project updates
  18. Report to the Sales Manager on a regular basis or whenever requested or necessary
  19. Fulfil other reasonable duties requested by management

Business Development Manager Ideal Candidate:

  1. At least 5 years’ experience in Business Development of connector and/or electromechanical products or Business Development for an industry supplier or manufacturer
  2. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management and/or electrical engineering/electronics
  3. Strong capability for business planning, project management and forecast control
  4. Ability to develop and arrange promotional tools and materials required for the business
  5. Technical knowledge: ability to fully understand the technical details
  6. Traceable negotiation skills and strong closer
  7. Team player and autonomous
  8. Ability to manage complex and time-intensive sales cycles
  9. Leadership & coordination abilities of cross-functional teams
  10. Stress resiliency
  11. Pan-European and international orientation
  12. Knowledge of or experience in working in a Japanese organization is advantageous
  13. Familiarity of French Distribution Market is beneficial
  14. Business level fluency in English
