SEEK Development seeks Freelance Country Experts with extensive knowledge and experience on the development landscape and advocacy to provide 12-15 days of support in developing a detailed donor profile and provide relevant geopolitical intelligence throughout 2024 up to the end of February 2025 for one of our clients - a leading multilateral development bank operating globally.
The selected Country Expert will be responsible for providing monthly updates on relevant developments (1-2 days a month from Oct-Feb with the possibility of extension) and co-developing a detailed donor profile (6-10 days between October and end of January). We are interested in understanding the role of different countries as development players and potential funders of development priorities globally. The Consultant will report to the Berlin office of SEEK Development.
As a Freelance Country Expert, you will work on the following tasks:
Note that for the donor profiles, SEEK Development will provide a template and all quantitative analysis that you can build on with your input. We expect the deliverable to be a 10-slide deck per market.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT FOR THIS EXCITING ROLE:
Based on this, we would like to identify and recruit one Country Expert per country for France, Denmark, Canada, Türkiye, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, or Thailand with experience working in the country and with a good understanding of the development financing landscape and relevant stakeholders. This role will be remunerated as a freelance role, with daily rates to be discussed with prospective candidates. Beyond this project, the selected Experts may join our roster of freelance consultants for future opportunities.

Time investment: The Country Expert is expected to dedicate at least 12-15 days of support throughout 2024 until February 2025, with 1 day per month for regular monitoring of events and policy updates and 6-10 days to complete a donor profile depending on the country and data availability.
Location: France, Canada, Turkey, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, or Thailand depending on the market to be covered.
