Formulation Engineer

The Limoges site with a proven expertise in aseptic filling is currently our Center of Excellence in Biotechnology for European market focused on clinical activities (until phase 3). We are looking for a Formulation Engineer to participate in Limoges growth!

The role:

1. Support biologics drug product development projects and apply technical knowledge of biomolecules in order to develop stable formulations, mostly parenteral forms, and compatible processes that can be effectively transferred to GMP manufacturing as needed.
2. Design, execute and interpret internal and external biologics drug product development studies including high throughput pre-formulation screening, forced degradation, formulation development and process characterization using DOE.
3. Author technical documents such as protocols, reports, and operating procedures.
4. Review technical documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
5. Participate in client meetings offering technical support when required.
6. Present results and planned experiments clearly and concisely both verbally and in written documents.
7. Train, coach or mentor other associate scientists and/or analysts of the team.
8. Maintain an awareness of scientific and technical literature relevant to formulation and biologic drug product development expertise.

The candidate:

1. PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline preferred with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
2. Fluent in both English and French.
3. Knowledge of formulation development of biologics including but not limited to monoclonal antibodies, therapeutic proteins, peptides and oligopeptides.
4. Good knowledge of analytical tools used for development and characterization of therapeutic protein formulation:

• Cryo-microscopy, DSC
• Spectrophotometry (UV, Fluorescence)
