Fine Fragrance Marketing Director – Europe - Your future position?

Givaudan is seeking a Fine Fragrance Marketing Director for Europe to join the global leader in Fragrance & Beauty. With a rich history of creating emotionally resonant scents, we enhance lives through innovative fragrances.

You will lead the Fine Fragrances European Marketing Team providing expert marketing input and support to top management, internal teams, and clients.

Working with Consumer Insights, Creative Development, and Sales teams, you will drive innovative & viable marketing solutions based on insight, category & customer knowledge.

This role would be based in Paris, France and reports to the Head of Fine Fragrances Europe.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for:

Market and Consumer Understanding:

  1. Research new sources of trend information and analyse new product launch information to understand consumer preferences and trends.
  2. Maintain in-depth market and consumer cross-category understanding (fine fragrances, beauty, luxury air care – from European & global perspectives).

Market Strategy and Planning:

  1. Set objectives and deliver strategic presentations in support of business goals.
  2. Work with Top Management, Sales, and Creative Development to contribute to building the Fine Fragrance WEE Strategy, as well as Givaudan Fine Fragrances Capabilities, and support key clients core lists and account plans.
  3. Drive innovation by experimenting with new tools and approaches to yield fresh insights and bring “newness” that drives differentiation.
  4. Establish Fine Fragrances Marketing road map aligned and supportive of business, development, and commercial initiatives.

Marketing Programs and Development:

  1. Work with cross-regional and cross-category counterparts to agree on marketing programmes with global application and to align processes and organisation.
  2. Lead design of marketing programmes to address client needs and differentiate Givaudan.
  3. Initiate and guide development of new creative marketing programmes and new sensorial presentation techniques to reinforce fragrance messages.
  4. Develop and implement best practice for resource management including a mindset of efficiency.

People Management:

  1. Recruit, lead, coach, guide and manage members of the Marketing team and Graphic Designer Studio.
  2. Lead and motivate colleagues to deliver creative and inspiring marketing-led solutions for clients.
  3. Agree and manage Marketing financial budgets.

Your professional profile includes:

  • University degree in Marketing or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of relevant and progressive experience in the relevant marketing function.
  • A good understanding of client strategy, initiatives, priorities and launch processes.
  • Knowledge of fragrance products, trends, key customers, and competitors on a global/regional category level.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze consumer data to strengthen consumer awareness and understanding.
  • Expert understanding of B2C and B2B principles.
  • Ability to lead, coach, guide and manage team members.
  • Has expertise in innovation processes and is able to lead the application of the right innovation principles to the fragrance creation process to deliver the next blockbusters based on deep consumer and category insights.
  • Fluent in English and French.
