Position Overview:
The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (VP of FP&A) will lead the global FP&A function for Merieux Nutrisciences, a large international corporation with multiple regional business units. The Director of FP&A will oversee the development and execution of financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to drive strategic decision-making across all business units and geographies. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of financial controlling, strategic analysis, and the ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership to shape the financial direction of the company on a global scale. Reports To: Global Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis:
Lead the global FP&A function, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business strategy and objectives. Partner with the executive leadership team to develop long-term financial plans, budgets, and forecasts that support company growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. Provide actionable insights and financial modeling to assess new business opportunities, investments, and acquisitions. - Global Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports and forecasts across all functions and business units. Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending corrective actions as necessary. Prepare regular financial performance presentations to the Board of Directors and senior management.
- Business Unit Support & Performance Optimization: Work closely with regional finance teams and business unit leaders to ensure financial performance is accurately reported and understood. Provide analytical support to key stakeholders on operational efficiency, cost management, and capital allocation decisions across multiple geographies. Develop and maintain financial oversight for various business units, ensuring accuracy and relevance to the corporate strategy.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team (4 FTE), fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Set clear performance expectations, provide professional development opportunities, and ensure the team has the necessary tools and resources to succeed. Foster a global mindset within the group FP&A community, ensuring coordination and consistency of processes across all regions.
- Process Improvement & System Optimization: Drive continuous improvements in FP&A processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis. Implement best practices and streamline financial planning cycles to align with the company's growth and evolving business needs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commercial, HR, IT) to ensure financial considerations are integrated into strategic decisions and day-to-day operations. Act as a trusted financial advisor to senior leaders in guiding critical decisions across the business.
YOUR PROFILEEducation: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or CPA/CFA preferred.
Experience:- At least 15 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a proven track record of leadership in a large, complex, multinational corporation.
- Experience managing FP&A teams in multiple regions or countries, with demonstrated expertise in financial consolidation, business performance analysis, and forecasting.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and address the financial implications of strategic decisions.
Skills:- Expertise in financial controlling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards, particularly in multi-national corporations.
- Strong proficiency in financial systems and software (HFM, OneStream, JDE preferred).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key business leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to provide actionable insights from complex data.
