System Engineer - Public Transport (all genders)

Frequentis France is located in Toulouse (Headquarters) and Saint-Denis near Paris, providing engineering services for safety-critical solutions. Our focus is on creating added value for our customers by building up local knowledge about customer infrastructures, projects, and needs, and providing services locally out of our subsidiary in France.

Our office in Saint-Denis focuses on solutions for the Public Transport (PT) market.

Key Tasks

• Contact person to our experts (e.g. software development) as well as the customer in France in various technical belongings.
• Ensure the technical specification, setup, integration configuration, and acceptance of a system at the customer's site.
• Configure and commission communication systems with IT and network components in a security-critical environment.
• Adapt the solution with your know-how in the areas of servers, VoIP (e.g. SIP, RTP) Cisco, network components, virtualization, and error analysis with tools (e.g. Wireshark).
• Provide technical support for the customer during the rollout and operation.

Key Qualifications

• Completed a technical education with a focus on IT and telecommunications.
• Five to ten years' experience in a technical interface function.
• Experience with different interface types, networks, programming, and up-to-date knowledge in IT security.
• Analytical skills to localize errors and sources of errors in distributed systems.
• Experience as a system/integration engineer with direct customer contact.
• Fluent in French and English to communicate with international teams.
• Experience in handling tools like Jira, Jama, ITSM, etc.
• Precise and thorough documentation abilities.
• Professional communication with customers, even during critical situations and under time pressure.
• Enjoy working with customers and are willing to travel in France and to Austria.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with specific systems or technologies relevant to the role.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
• Knowledge of the public transport area is a significant asset.

Salary

This position is based in Saint-Denis (near Paris) and requires a strong willingness to travel in France and Europe. Salary depends on your working experience and educational background.
