About the Team:

About the Role:

The Event Director will lead and strategize the MIPIM brand, a prominent international real estate event, overseeing major European markets whilst exploring growth opportunities in global regions. The Event Director will manage the current and future activities of the company in the assigned sectors, focusing on critical stakeholder management, strategic brand positioning and representation, profitable growth opportunities and operational team management. The role requires extensive travel and a commitment to working in a dynamic, international environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the global strategy for MIPIM, including event pricing, marketing and audience acquisition. Coordinate and lead teams involved in event organization and execution, managing objectives and performance in a matrix environment.

  • Brand Development: Enhance the MIPIM brand by expanding its presence and potentially launching new events under the ‘MIPIM’ brand. Deliver cutting-edge content and keynotes addressing critical industry trends in real estate.

  • Event Execution: Manage flagship event in Cannes and smaller editions such as the MIPIM conference in Hong Kong, evolving it into a “confex” model.

  • Stakeholder/Relationship Management: Act as the central coordinator, ensuring alignment across marketing, content, and operational teams. Develop and maintain high-level relationships with strategic clients, partners, federations, media and public authorities.

  • Financial Management: Focus on financial performance, managing the P&L, reporting on forecasts and opportunities.

  • Marketing and Commercial Development: Optimize brand growth through positioning, pricing and new formats. Co-construct commercial strategies with central teams.

  • Business Development: Find and nurture development opportunities such as acquisitions, partnerships and new business models.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Qualities: A commercially focused project manager with strategic vision, strong stakeholder management, and ambassadorial skills.

  • Client-Centric Approach: Capable of fostering meaningful connections and creating value for participants through impactful events and networking opportunities.

  • Financial Literacy: Strong understanding of financial management, including P&L responsibility.

  • Executive Presence: Drive and presence to engage with experienced real estate professionals, elected officials, and the press.

  • Relationship Builder: Capable to develop relationships without an immediate commercial focus, maintaining authenticity and client-centricity.

  • International Commitment: Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with availability for international engagements.

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in real estate is essential; exhibition management experience is a plus.

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in French.
