What We Offer :

LANXESS SAS France is on the lookout for a dynamic individual with a blend of sales and technical expertise to join our Advanced Industrial Intermediates (AII) Business Unit as an Account Manager.

Location : LANXESS SAS, France, Courbevoie, office hybrid (2 days WFH / 3 days in Courbevoie)

Geographical scope : France (travel is to be expected in France).

Your Role :

As part of the AII BU, you will manage a portfolio of clients primarily based in France. This role not only involves taking over an existing client portfolio but also focuses on identifying and cultivating new business opportunities.

Main Responsibilities :

Join our team of six in Courbevoie and report directly to the Head of Sales AII. As an Account Manager within the AII BU, you will develop and execute BU strategies to identify and capitalize on business opportunities, driving sales growth through your deep understanding of our diverse product portfolio and the industries we serve.

Your Key Missions :

  1. Top Line Development: Manage and grow accounts at local and regional levels, preparing strategic account plans to ensure profitable and sustainable growth for BU AII.
  2. Relationship Building: Maintain strong internal and external multilevel relationships to identify and develop new sales opportunities.
  3. Information Flow: Ensure seamless market and business information flow across the team and the entire AII organization, including Marketing and Internal Sales.
  4. CRM and Forecasting: Utilize CRM tools consistently and ensure forecasting accuracy.
  5. Pricing Negotiation: Negotiate account pricing based on Product Management guidance, preparing well-reasoned business cases to justify pricing requests.
  6. Proactive Management: Approach forecasting, overdue control, and incoterm alignment proactively.
  7. Market Monitoring: Keep a close watch on market changes, trends, fluctuations, and competitor activities.

Knowledge and Experience :

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or equivalent (Master's is a plus).
  2. Experience: 3 to 5 years of commercial experience in the chemical industry sector.
  3. Language Skills: native in French, and fluent in English, Fluency in German is a plus.
  4. Safety Awareness: Proactive in addressing safety and security issues, particularly in the transportation and tracking of hazardous materials.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Superior ability to influence at all levels and develop strategic relationships.
  6. Sales Expertise: Deep and broad knowledge of all sales disciplines, strong negotiation skills, and problem-solving mentality.
  7. Integrity: High level of integrity and discipline.
