The Opportunity

The Huawei France Aesthetics Research Department, established since 2014, is a design-oriented studio located in the heart of Paris. The team has been bringing creative ideas in color and style to Huawei products, integrating breakthrough innovative technologies with aesthetics.

We are looking for a creative, dynamic, responsible, and autonomous Innovative Industrial Designer to join our team in Paris. If you understand the importance of driving innovation and engagement in consumer products, we would love to learn more about you. This person will be working on highly creative projects and should be passionate about art, fashion, and technology trends. We are looking for someone who has experience in the design process from research, idea generation, and follow-up design development at our headquarters in PRC.

Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Work on diverse projects and across competencies from smartphone, wearables, accessories, and visual communication design to enhance Huawei Premium Brand Image.
2. Conduct user-centered design methods and design strategy, with the ability to turn them into breakthrough innovative design solutions and deliver them to the market.
3. Identify target audience needs and desires, lifestyle, design and technology trends and turn them into new and exciting concepts.
4. Balance the desire for crafting breakthrough, beautiful and functional designs with the knowledge and understanding of the latest craftsmanship and production techniques.
5. A master at visualizing concepts for idea presentations, by hand, 2D/3D renderings, or tangible prototypes.
6. Ensure that designs are production-ready and collaborate with product development, engineering, and marketing teams, also liaise with our headquarters design teams and manufacturers in China to follow up on the prototypes and design development of a project.

What we need from you:

1. At least 2-3 years of experience in industrial design, preferably from the consumer electronics industry.
2. A creative thought process with a self-motivated drive to produce highly creative design solutions. The ability to challenge conventional thinking, whilst keeping ideas commercial. An adaptable, reliable character with the ability to easily engage with others.
3. Excellent analytical thinking skills, able to break down complex problems into smaller components and develop effective design solutions.
4. Excellent visualization skills and 2D/3D design applications such as Adobe suite, Rhinoceros, Creo, and KeyShot.
5. An ability to effectively manage time whilst working to tight timelines on multiple projects.
6. Great communication and presentation skills, able to deliver ideas from scratch to end products to both local and Chinese headquarters teams.
7. Patient and persistent, able to handle setbacks and challenges with a positive attitude and a focus on finding solutions.
8. You are meticulous, organized, and interested in the world of the tech industry, as well as in the worlds of fashion, art, and craftsmanship. You have a good understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes.
9. International work experience will be greatly appreciated.
10. Fluent in English is essential; French and Chinese will be a plus.
