Employment Type: Full-Time. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Café Manager/Barista to join our dynamic team and lead by example in both coffee craft and café operations.
Job Overview:
The Café Manager/Barista will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the café while also working as an expert barista. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about coffee, customer service, and team management. You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining high standards of quality, and creating a positive and fun environment for both customers and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Café Management
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and maintaining a high standard of service.
- Lead and manage a small team of baristas, kitchen staff, and front-of-house personnel.
- Handle scheduling, shift planning, and staffing to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours.
- Manage inventory and ordering, ensuring stock levels of coffee, food, and supplies are maintained.
- Oversee cash handling, daily financials, and end-of-day reports.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Barista Duties
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, including specialty coffees, teas, and other beverages.
- Demonstrate an understanding of coffee beans, brewing methods, and equipment.
- Ensure consistency and quality in every cup, maintaining our café's reputation for excellence.
- Engage with customers in a friendly, welcoming manner and create a warm, vibrant café atmosphere.
- Train and mentor new baristas on coffee-making techniques and customer service best practices.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience - At least 2+ years of experience in a managerial role within a café or hospitality setting, with strong barista skills (latte art).
- Coffee Expertise - Proven experience as a barista with knowledge of specialty coffee, equipment maintenance, and coffee brewing techniques.
- Leadership Skills - Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Organizational Skills - Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Customer Service - A passion for providing excellent customer service and creating an inviting café experience.
- Language - Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Additional languages are a plus.
