About North Star

Launched in 2017, North Star is an independent media group running 20+ media brands in 35+ countries. Our clients are mainly operators in the betting and gambling industry. M&As and partnerships play a strategic role in the company’s expansion, both in mature & new markets. We are 85 sports fans running an international sports media group. A few figures about our portfolio of websites, which cover sports including football, boxing, MMA, e-sports, basketball, and more:

  1. 50+ websites
  2. 30M+ monthly page views (and rising)
  3. +80 employees covering 40+ markets

Role Overview

In a 6-person team, you would report to the Head of M&A and Partnerships. Your key objective is reaching out to potential targets for acquisitions and partnerships. You will be involved in the whole process, from target lead generation to analysis (SEO, valuation), closing, and integration. More specifically, you will:

  1. Generate target leads using company tools
  2. Reach out to leads using multiple channels (e.g., mail, call, LinkedIn)
  3. Follow up diligently with your leads and keep track of every interaction in Salesforce
  4. Assist team in creating marketing materials
  5. Assist team in performing asset analysis (e.g., SEO, tech, legal) and valuations supporting negotiations
  6. Coordinate with other departments

The mergers and acquisitions team is crucial to the growth and success of North Star, and you will play a key role in the company’s growth.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  1. Number of targets contacted
  2. Number of LOIs signed
  3. Number of deals closed

Profile

We are looking for candidates who:

  1. Have a deal-maker and problem-solving mindset
  2. Are proactive and take pride in advancing situations
  3. Have a strong digital culture, ideally familiar with tools like Asana, Notion, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Similarweb, and Ahrefs
  4. Have experience in reaching out to targets or prospects
  5. Possess exceptional communication skills, fluent in English and ideally speaking French or another language. Comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment
  6. Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  7. Are keen on sports and have knowledge of the sports industry (a plus)
  8. Hold a Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field

Compensation & Benefits

Status: Attractive package from 40K€/year base plus uncapped variable related to deals closed and other KPIs
