REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will have:
• At least three years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• A versatile skill set, capable of managing multiple responsibilities.
• A strong understanding of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their accounting needs.
• Good working knowledge of accounting software and systems used in practice.
• A high level of personal and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• ACCA or AAT qualification (or currently studying towards one).
• Knowledge of Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks is highly desirable.

THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation and submission of annual accounts, quarterly VAT reports, and returns to statutory bodies such as HMRC and Companies House. You will also prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key duties include:
• Implementing and effectively utilising accounting systems and policies.
• Preparing management reports, including monthly and quarterly accounts, for shareholders and company executives.
• Handling queries, disputes, and investigations related to annual returns, VAT, payroll, and other statutory matters.
• Overseeing and supporting trainees with various accountancy tasks and administrative processes.
• Managing weekly and monthly payroll services for clients.

• Salary: £28,000 – £35,000
