Quality Manager (Personal Care Manufacturing)

Our client is seeking a Quality Manager to oversee all quality assurance and quality control operations while driving excellence in manufacturing processes and compliance with corresponding standards. This key leadership role reports directly to the CEO and indirectly to the VP of Operations, making it a critical position within the organization.
About Our Client:
Our client is a private label manufacturer of health and beauty products that has been operating since 1999. With state-of-the-art production facilities designed to accommodate the unique needs of each customer, they serve both small and large customers with diverse filling equipment that can handle bottles, jars, and tubes of varying shapes and sizes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and supervise the quality control team (~40 total staff), with 4 direct reports including QC Supervisor, Lab Supervisor, Senior Validation Engineer, and Micro Team Lead.
- Quality Standards: Define and implement quality standards for products and services, including specifications and testing procedures.
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to all relevant quality regulations and industry standards, including cGMP, ISO9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
- Process Improvement: Implement strategies to improve production processes based on data analysis to minimize defects and enhance product quality.
- Auditing and Inspections: Conduct internal quality audits to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Product Oversight: Oversee product recalls and ensure operations are working at optimal quality levels.
- Supplier/Vendor Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality of incoming materials and evaluate vendor quality systems.
- Customer Relations: Work with customers, R&D, operations, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop product requirements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field) required.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in QA/QC in a regulated industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Personal care industry experience is required.
- Certifications: Current CQA or similar certification.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), MS Office, and project management.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
