Trident Search have partnered with a cyber security start up who are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their every growing engineering team. This is a remote role.

Key Responsibilities :

• Build and optimize real-time distributed data pipelines for analyzing public data and identifying emerging threats.
• Advance AI research in NLP, computer vision, LLMs, and graph network analysis.
• Oversee dataset creation and annotation for classification, translation, and pre-training tasks.
• Apply ML evaluation techniques, recognizing failure modes and limitations.
• Develop and enhance ETL pipelines for diverse data sources like social media, news, and the web.
• Design and manage scalable database systems with a focus on real-time analytics.
• Optimize system performance, balancing cost, latency, and throughput.
• Lead build automation, CI / CD, and deployment while ensuring security compliance.
• Drive the development of new features and capabilities for the platform.
• Ensure data integrity through test suites and inline instrumentation.
• Develop secure and scalable REST APIs.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering and platform development.
• 2+ years in machine learning or related fields, delivering research or product innovations.
• Experience with cloud and SaaS-based solutions for real-time streaming analytics.
• Expertise in databases & query optimization (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, Druid).
• Experience scaling databases horizontally.
• Proficiency in Kafka, Airflow, and runtime profiling tools.
• Hands-on experience with big data processing (Apache Spark, Flink, Beam).
• Strong CI / CD, automation, and deployment skills.
• Expert-level Python programming.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.

Bonus Skills :

• Experience with AWS and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with MLOps frameworks (Kubeflow, MLFlow).
• AI / ML deployment and system architecture optimization.
• Experience with synthetic data generation (text / images).
• Strong performance in Kaggle / hackathons.
• Published research in ML, NLP, or computer vision.
• Contributions to open-source ML projects (GitHub, HuggingFace).
