Expected skills:
Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions and standards. They must identify with UGA’s values, which include being open to the world, emphasizing ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork, and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, particularly regarding environmental and social issues.
Teaching profile:
– The person recruited will be required to teach at the Bachelor level in Biology in the disciplines of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Immunology.
– They will also teach at the Master’s level in the Master’s degree in Biology.
– The candidate may have to teach at the Grenoble and/or Valence sites.
Research profile:
– The candidate will develop a research project in translational immunology in close collaboration with the Institute of Advanced Biosciences (IAB, UGA Inserm 1209 CNRS 5309) and the French Blood Bank (Etablissement Français du Sang [EFS] Auvergne Rhône-Alpes [AuRA]).
– The goal of this project will be based on the characterization and modulation of innate immune responses (i.e., dendritic cells, monocytes/macrophages) in chronic inflammatory settings (including cancers, infections, transplantation). This project of translational research will consist of studying the role of these innate immune cells during immune modulation (i.e., immunotherapies) and/or using these innate immune cells to develop new preventive or therapeutic approaches.
– The relationship between these innate immune cells and effector cells (i.e., conventional T cells, gamma/delta T cells, MAIT, NK, or iNKT cells) will also be studied.
