Our client, a multinational company, is looking to recruit an Accountant with French to native standard and fluency in English, for their site in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille.

Within the finance team, you will be responsible for the site’s accounting, as well as providing support in management control and financial analysis. You will develop, interpret, and implement accounting and tax concepts, including cost accounting, asset management and depreciation, tax declarations, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliation.

Responsibilities :

1 / Accounting activities (70%) :

1. Manage all accounting operations and legal declarations.
2. Handle bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and general ledger entries.
3. Manage legal declarations (VAT, DEB, DAS, CA3, fees, tax returns, CVAE, CFE, property taxes).
4. Handle cost accounting required for the preparation of the site's financial elements, support accounting operations for the legal entity (FR / US GAAP reconciliation, tax returns), and oversee accounting operations carried out abroad by shared services (accounts payable, taxes, etc.).
5. Manage monthly inter-site billing.
6. Lead month-end closings (GL entries) and prepare monthly analyses of the site's results compared to forecasts and plans.
7. Prepare bank reconciliations and verify account balances.

2 / Financial analysis and management control activities (30%) :

1. Assist in managing accounting files and financial analyses.
2. Contribute to variance analysis and identifying opportunities for improving management control processes.
3. Participate in budget preparation and monthly management control tasks.

Profile required :

1. Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
2. Advanced skills in MS Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables, etc.) and good command of other Microsoft Office applications (Access, Word, PowerPoint).
3. Fluent English and French.

Previous experience in the following areas would be an advantage :

1. Experience in preparing management reports or tax declarations.
2. Experience with Oracle, Oracle Business Intelligence, SAP, or equivalent.
