Commodity Leader, Transportation and Logistics

Inside the Indirect Procurement department (>4Bn€ purchases) and hierarchically linked to Transportation Commodity Manager, this role involves the purchasing of standard transportation to support global Supply Chain & Transportation services within ALSTOM footprint and Logistics Stakes. The successful applicant will manage numerous internal and external stakeholders to develop Project Transportation requirements within the Transportation & Logistics global perimeter and support Procurement strategies on transportation that deliver value for money and fit-for-purpose solutions.

- Objectives
- Coordinate and source in line with business objectives and according to ALSTOM procurement processes
- Manage RFQs and RFIs on Source to Contract basis
- Contribute to build Commodity strategy
- Animate commodity maturity improvement plan
- Negotiate contracts and frame agreements with key suppliers
- Manage Supplier Panel in line with strategy
- Contribute to commodity maturity improvement through audit support and continuous improvement programs
- Innovate with best practices proposal and leadership or implementation
- Be recognized as a business development facilitator and an added-value contributor
- Responsibilities
- Contribute to transversal commodities strategy improvement and deployment
- Develop and share market constraints understanding
- Ensure Procurement project/service execution/influence by:
- Developing close network of internal and external stakeholders worldwide
- Working with internal stakeholders to align requirements with Procurement objectives
- Challenging technical specifications produced by stakeholders
- Implementing company CSR Strategy
- Bringing innovation through supplier selection and sustain supplier QCD performance
- Participating to Make or Buy decision process utilizing reference costing and market indicators
- Manage global negotiation for key projects securing savings in line with global targets
- Ensuring Procurement strategy application and alignment with processes and policy
- Makes sure that suppliers selected are compliant with Alstom Procurement rules.
PROFILE
To be considered for this role, candidates need to be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and attributes:
- Educational Degree: Business school or Engineering school preferred
- Experience between 4-5 years in international procurement within an industrial environment
- Experience with Transportation and Logistics, Supply Chain.
- Strong buying and negotiating expertise
- Strong sense of business acumen and analytical skills
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills
- Results, Service, and Customer-oriented
- Agile in a multi-culture environment
- Team spirit, autonomous, force of proposal
- Fluent in English and French is mandatory
- Able to regularly travel to sites under scope of responsibility
