Within Hitachi Energy, the High Voltage (HV) Products unit plays a crucial role. This unit offers a comprehensive range of high-voltage products, including gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), air-insulated switchgear (AIS), hybrid switchgear, generator circuit breakers, capacitor banks, instrument transformers, and surge arresters. These products are essential for the safe, reliable, and efficient transmission of electrical power. Your role:

We are looking for a Service Sales Manager to join our BU High Voltage Service Unit in Beynost, France (Lyon area). The selected candidate will be responsible for driving, implementing, reporting, and monitoring the progress of the service sales strategy, developing trends for identifying and winning new business, and developing contract strategy and project proposals based on policies, customer requirements, budgets, and timescales, ensuring they meet agreed technical standards.

He/she will analyze service market potential, with full focus on installed base (IB) penetration and ensure customer relationship management. The candidate will lead and develop the Service Sales team to exceed sales targets through high performance and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities:

  1. Creates, plans, and implements service sales strategy by increasing the installed base (IB) penetration, effectively utilizing the approved Service database. Promote value-add service product offerings.
  2. Achieves service sales volume by ensuring the team sells the entire service portfolio.
  3. Participates in negotiations of major contracts to secure service sales volume.
  4. Ensures achievement of service sales targets, providing cost-effective solutions to customers and initiating improvement plans as needed.
  5. In collaboration with the Service sales team, generates and identifies service sales leads by analyzing the IB potential and targeting new IB opportunities from emerging trends with the Service solutions available. Determines account and acquisition plans to support growth.
  6. Establishes long-term customer relationships with key customers and decision-makers by understanding their requirements and regulations and exhibiting high expertise in technical solutions and products. Ensures customer satisfaction issues are registered and responded to by the team.
  7. Supports the team by participating in sales activities when needed. Responsible for feedback on sales development, distribution of resources for service sales activities, and the current status of the market. Collaborates with Business Units and account teams to position different service offerings. Evaluates and shares relevant information on installed base data, sales leads, customer’s and competitor’s solutions, and marketing trends with the team.
  8. Monitors client financial status and reports any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams. Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels. Drives health and safety practices in own unit.
  9. Drives sales efficiency by ensuring adequate selling skills for service sales team members and that the area of responsibility is properly organized and staffed. Coaches the team in formulating sales plans, negotiating, and developing customer segment expertise.

Your background:

  • Technical background (Engineering Degree preferred)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the high voltage service business
  • Availability to travel (France frequently, Europe occasionally)
  • Fluent oral and written French and English
  • Excellent negotiation, teambuilding, networking, and customer orientation skills
