Digital Factory - Project Manager

VWT has been an early adopter of Cloud computing, starting in 2012, and using mainly AWS and GCP.

Today, our IT services are 99% cloud-based, on a worldwide scope (operating in 5 AWS regions, with 160+ accounts), utilizing various architectures (IaaS, Serverless, IoT and Data pipelines, ML services) with modern automation tools.

The FinOps function is therefore a crucial role, which has helped save hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past years; however, this remains a constant effort, as our IT landscape is constantly evolving.

The IS&T department, through its Digital Factory as well as many other teams, has also been a strong enabler of our Hubgrade digital platform, which provides high-value digital services such as remote monitoring based on IoT technologies, performance optimization algorithms, ML-based services, remote assistance, and auto-piloting.

Additionally, we maintain E-commerce platforms for B2B services for our customers, with integrations across our entire information system.

As part of our continuous transformation and technological watch, we actively promote AI and GenAI services to our various businesses. Veolia is massively investing in AI and GenAI, and VWT is actively working on value-added use cases based on AI.

• Furthermore, following the Suez acquisition by Veolia, and the emergence of a new WaterTech zone, we need to create strong synergies and lead a global IT transformation program.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Digital Factory team, capable of managing diverse and interesting projects.

Your work will have very tangible outcomes and observable value.

You will manage the following areas:

FinOps

We consider having reached a good level of maturity and tooling. So far, FinOps has essentially been an activity performed centrally at HQ, but we need to decentralize this responsibility more to the regions.

The Project Manager will be in charge of animating this global community, controlling global spending, promoting automation, and managing the relationship with our major cloud providers.

A specific focus is to be placed on frugality and GreenOps, in accordance with Veolia's principles.

E-commerce

Manage the subcontractor responsible for hosting, application services, and support.

Manage the relationship with VWT Business Units and define the roadmap accordingly.

Coordinate with other IS&T teams for cross-system integrations and interfaces.

GenAI coordination

Manage use cases within VWT and ensure Business Units follow the established governance framework.

Coordinate Business Units, IS&T technical teams, and external suppliers.

Work closely with VWTS teams to ensure governance at the WaterTech zone level.

Work closely with Veolia IS&T technical teams, who are responsible for providing building blocks.

Further projects linked with Hubgrade and WaterTech IT transformation.

Provide support on integrations and interfaces between Hubgrade and other systems.

Take part in transverse WaterTech projects (ex: Guardian: IAM and User360 program).

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Solid experience in IT project management involving management of internal and external resources.

Proficiency in diverse project management methodologies (waterfall, agile).

Concrete experience in running the Agile Scrum methodology (facilitating ceremonies, using appropriate tools, driving continuous improvement, etc.).

• 5+ years of experience with cloud environments and modern tooling
• Background in software programming (including cross-system integrations) or architecture.

Technical skills

• Good general knowledge of the cloud, and AWS services in particular (certification recommended).
• Good understanding of all AWS discount mechanisms and billing processes.
• Familiarity with financial terminology and concepts (YTD, YoY, Forex, amortization, …).
• Good understanding of automation and productivity tools (Infra-as-code, Git, CI/CD, quality tools, testing tools, cybersecurity tools).
• Particular awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
• Good understanding of integration patterns (ETL, ELT, API, Event buses, Data streams,...) and Big Data/Data Lake standards (data layers, Spark, Parquet, Iceberg, …).
• Good understanding of the AI landscape (types of AI, frameworks and tools, AI lifecycle, experience in working with data engineers and data scientists, MLOps).
• Good understanding of GenAI concepts (LLM, RAG, vector DB).
• Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to negotiate and educate stakeholders.
• Automation-focused and efficient mindset.
