Your Mission:

Your mission is to establish an organization, tools, and culture that foster design excellence by enabling seamless collaboration between designers, product teams, developers, and other stakeholders. You will place design at the heart of product development processes by improving interactions within the design team and across departments.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Put Collaboration at the Core:
  • Facilitate collaboration among designers, product teams, business teams, and developers.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize team needs regarding processes, tools, collaboration, and design culture.
  • Organize workshops, design critiques, communities, and other rituals or taskforces to drive creativity and continuous learning.
  • Manage team resources, budgets, and planning effectively.
  • Set the Standard for Excellence:
    • Oversee and optimize the design workflow from initiative scoping, through discovery, to delivery.
    • Implement and maintain tools, systems, and practices that enhance the efficiency of the design team.
    • Ensure the establishment and adherence to design standards and consistency across products, services, and experiences.
  • Legitimize Design Impact:
    • Support lead designers in implementing and tracking Product Design OKRs.
    • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and providing ongoing training for product designers.
    • Promote a design culture within the company and act as a design ambassador externally.
    • Establish and monitor metrics to measure the impact of design.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Graduate of a top Engineering or Business School, with a focus on general studies, IT, or a specialized Master’s in Design or Design Ops.
    • Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in a similar role, combining expertise in Design Ops and team management.
    • Team Player: Capable of working collaboratively with colleagues across various departments.
    • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to present analyses and ideas clearly and convincingly to diverse audiences.
    • Process Expertise: Solid understanding of design processes, product management, and fundamentals of change management.
    • Strategic Implementation: Experienced in developing strategies for organizational, process, and tool implementation.
    • Human-Centric Approach: Committed to having a meaningful impact on designers’ daily work and supporting their skills development.
    • Workshop Facilitation: Skilled at facilitating workshops with various stakeholders.
    • Deliverable Creation: Able to write and formalize impactful deliverables.
    • Tool Mastery: Proficient in collaborative tools such as Figma, Miro, Slack, JIRA, etc.
    • Organizational Skills: Known for rigor, with a strong ability to organize and prioritize team tasks effectively.
    • Empathetic Leadership: Demonstrated leadership marked by empathy and active listening.
    • Language Skills: Fluent in English, with the ability to present work and communicate effectively in an international context.
    • Adaptability: Experience supporting both small structures and large organizations.
    • User-Centered Focus: Product Design-oriented, with particular attention to user experience.
