We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to focus on Supply Chain engagements for Energy & Utilities customers. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between traditional supply chain systems and modern cloud architecture, creating scalable solutions that enhance our energy supply chain visibility, efficiency and intelligence.
This role will be part of AWS Energy ProServe team and requires a deep understanding of AWS technologies, data architectures, AI/ML, and the broader technology ecosystem, as well as how those technologies can be leveraged to optimize the end-to-end supply chain. You will engage directly with CDOs, CDAOs, CTOs, and CIOs to drive strategic data and generative AI initiatives, ensuring that AWS services align with and enhance our customers' IT and business strategies. Your expertise will help our customers enhance their innovation speed, IT efficiency, and the business value derived from their technological investments.
In this role, the candidate should have hands-on experience in planning and executing complex data & analytics engagements, architecting and implementing complex Cloud Native platforms, and providing consultancy. This, coupled with strong business acumen, will be used to guide and own the sales and delivery of ProServe engagements.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Direction and Development:
- Define and develop overall strategic direction for AWS customers and internal AWS teams designing, building, optimizing, transforming, or otherwise migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
- Partner with AWS Account Manager and ProServe Sales on accelerating innovation, account strategy, and technical execution, aligning to increase business value through cloud adoption, covering people, processes, and technology aspects.
- Engage with C-level executives to guide their strategic technology initiatives and support their data transformation journeys.
- Participate in deep architectural discussions to design and architect scalable solutions on AWS to integrate data from multiple supply chain systems including WMS, TMS, ERP, and IoT devices.
- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customer organizations to enable them to become cloud advocates.
- Design enterprise scale, globally distributed, highly available solutions using our Compute, Container, Serverless, Storage, Analytics, Database and Network Services.
- Act as technical focal point within the Energy & utilities organization for key AWS supply chain services and offerings including AWS Supply Chain, Supply Chain Command Center (SC3) and Warehouse Automation and Optimization (WAO).
- Work hands-on with new Services, including AI/Machine Learning, Serverless/Lambda IoT, Analytics (Map Reduce, ETL), Data Warehouse, BI and Security Services to build products and solutions with our customers.
- Structure and guide our Customers through transformation journey, collaborating widely with business stakeholders to understand supply chain requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers, including participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, creating consulting proposals and creating packaged Big Data service offerings and delivering them as part of our projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years hands on experience in IT implementation or leading IT Projects in Architecture, (Data-)Engineering, or Development
• Deep understanding and implementation experience of database and analytical technologies in the industry including Data Lakes, Stream based Analytics, MPP databases, NoSQL storage, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting and Dashboard development
• Worked in a customer facing (external or internal), consulting role or project organization for global large-scale customers and large-scale data driven projects
• Business fluent verbal and written communication skills in French and English
• Energy Power Backbone, power / electricity grid knowledge and understanding of modern energy systems and transition to net zero energy
• A professional who has experience of helping to design and implement power systems to improve efficiency and resilience
• Working experience of energy conservation and sustainability
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• AWS Certified Solutions Architecture (Associate or Professional), or other specialty
• Experience implementing services and solutions on Customer Projects using AWS Big Data, Analytics, AI /ML or Data Science solutions
• Hands on experience leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects.
• Experience designing and coding in Python or Scala or building ETL or data ingestion pipelines.
