Data Engineer and Scientist(Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer and Scientist. Joining us as a consultant, you will assist in the deployment of a unified data platform, maximising data value and improving control, security and governance. Key tasks include implementing a data catalogue for seamless data access and ensuring the platform's agility to integrate AI capabilities for accelerated AI solution development.

Your responsibilities include:

• Design Data and AI platform architecture. Actively participate in designing the architecture of the ICC data platform, including agile integration with new AI capabilities like AI agents.
• Develop and maintain the architecture for data collection, storage, and processing.
• Data processing, quality & security. Build data pipelines, optimise databases, and ensure data quality and security, enabling efficient data access and usability.
• Cross-department collaboration. Collaborate with business units and cross-functional teams to define use case requirements, identify data assets, data sources, and determine the best technical ways to meet business needs (e.g., new KPIs for financial reports via reports, building an AI agent, etc.).
• Data insights & AI. Extract and transform disparate data into actionable insights that will drive business decisions. Apply industry best practice transformation and modelling techniques – validating the output to ensure reliable and accurate results for consumption by downstream data teams and end users.

Your profile

• Proven experience in product management, innovation strategy or business development (5+ years)
• Must have: Azure Microsoft Cloud, experience in building data platform (e.g. with Azure Databricks, Synapse, Fabric ...), Spark, Terraform, GenAI solution.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to build and execute long-term innovation strategies.
• Ability to identify market opportunities and successfully scale projects.
• Project management experience and driving teams cross-functionally to project completion.
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management.
• Data driven with an analytical and results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full proficiency in English required. French and/or another language would be an asset.
• Please note that this is a contract-based consulting role and not a permanent employment position.
