Market Pay is a fast-growing payment company providing end-to-end solutions for payment acceptance and acquiring across all channels including physical and ecommerce. Our platform is critical to our operations, and we are seeking a hands-on Operational Risk Manager to strengthen our risk management framework and support the stability of our systems.
Main Mission
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is responsible for the company’s global risk management strategy ensuring the implementation of a unified risk management business continuity and disaster recovery framework.
The CRO will be responsible for defining and formalizing a group-wide Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) that ensures the continuity of critical services provided to clients leveraging existing plans while ensuring a cohesive and self-sustaining approach.
Additionally, the CRO will structure an effective crisis management organization to enable optimal coordination and rapid response in the event of a major incident.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement and lead the company’s risk management framework.
- Identify, assess and prioritize risks (operational, IT, cyber, regulatory, financial, strategic and reputational).
- Develop a company-wide risk culture ensuring risk awareness and best practices across teams.
- Work along with the Compliance Director to ensure compliance with European financial and regulatory requirements (PSD2, GDPR, DORA, EBA Guidelines, etc.).
- Establish risk committees and provide regular risk reporting to the Executive Committee and shareholders.
- Assess and enhance the business continuity and disaster recovery plans (BCP / DRP) of each business unit.
- Develop a group-level BCP / DRP that ensures a holistic and resilient approach to business continuity guaranteeing the availability of critical services for clients.
- Regularly test and audit continuity and recovery plans identifying weaknesses and implementing improvements.
- Structure and lead a group-wide crisis management organization defining roles, responsibilities and escalation processes.
- Establish incident response protocols, internal/external communication procedures and coordination mechanisms across business units.
- Organize crisis simulations and training sessions to enhance preparedness and response capabilities.
- Ensure effective incident management and coordinate responses to critical disruptions.
- Work closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to assess and mitigate IT and cyber risks related to infrastructure hosting (European data centers, private and public cloud) and system interconnections (e.g. Gateway terminals, SoftPOS).
- Contribute to evaluating cybersecurity resilience and propose necessary improvements.
- Maintain regulatory and technological risk monitoring to anticipate future threats and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Security and Operations teams to enhance service resilience.
- Participate in cybersecurity committees and contribute to prioritizing IT security initiatives.
- Lead risk committees involving key stakeholders from different business units (IT, Compliance, Security, Operations).
- Develop concise and actionable risk reports for the Executive Committee and investors.
- Train and raise awareness among teams on risk management, business continuity best practices and crisis management protocols.
Profile & Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Experience: 10 years in risk management within fintech, banking or technology environments.
- Technical expertise: Strong understanding of IT infrastructures (on-premise, private/public cloud), payment solutions (gateway terminals, SoftPOS), cybersecurity and software architecture.
- Regulatory knowledge: Deep understanding of European financial and IT regulations (DORA, PSD2, GDPR, etc.).
- BCP / DRP & Crisis Management experience: Proven track record in business continuity, disaster recovery planning and crisis response management.
- Leadership & Coordination: Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams and countries aligning stakeholders around a unified risk strategy.

- Fluent English (mandatory as teams are spread across multiple countries).
- French (strongly recommended).
