Cost Assurance Specialist

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Gleeds is seeking a Cost Assurance Specialist to support on one of our large infrastructure projects in Canada.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Provide commercial and financial assurance and verification of costs on a range of projects in different sectors.
2. Analysis and assessment of contractor’s accounting and commercial systems and processes.
3. Prepare risk-based audit and verification plans.
4. Detailed audit and analysis of a range of cost types.
5. Prepare high quality and robust outputs and working papers.
6. Understanding and interpretation of different types of contractual frameworks.
7. Engagement with contractors, clients, regulatory bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
8. Preparation of clear and concise reports.
9. Development of forensic technology and analysis tools.
10. Support the Head of Cost Assurance and other senior staff within Gleeds.

Who we’re looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

1. Minimum of 5 years of audit and cost assurance experience in a lead role, preferably on large infrastructure projects.
2. Audit engagements of actual cost reimbursement contracting models for large infrastructure projects.
3. Develop Audit Plans.
4. Analysing financial data and performance of vendors.
5. Preparing reports and projections based on the analysis.
6. Proficiency using Oracle Enterprise business and financial management systems.

Qualifications:

1. Relevant certification is not a requirement but preferred.
2. Diploma or Degree in relevant discipline OR; the combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
