Under the supervision of the Designated Supervisor, the instructor is responsible for instructing curriculum related to the teaching assignment, keeping curriculum current and maintaining related documentation specific to the course.
An undergraduate degree and post secondary teaching experience are preferred; however, applicants who have completed Grade 12 and possess an equivalent combination of teaching and work experience in their area of expertise may be considered.
An Instructor’s Diploma or valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment is preferred. 6 – 10 years recent relevant experience.
Candidates must be committed to a team approach, demonstrate good written and oral English skills and have good interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional teaching record. Successful applicants will be an integral part of the team that will help Okanagan College realize the promise of a world-class college. Candidates will be comfortable in a computerized environment and demonstrate knowledge of programs relevant to their discipline. The successful applicant will be able to encourage communication between students and faculty.
Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with relevant certificate or training in the specialty or higher. Experience teaching adults in an Online setting. Current experience working within the field. Provincial Instructor Diploma or Learner Centred Instructor certificate or equivalent experience and education appropriate to the instructional assignment are preferred.
5 years relevant experience in the field.
