Quandela is a European startup that provides photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, energy-efficient, and accessible both on the cloud and on-premise. Our team specializes in the development of both software and hardware solutions for a variety of quantum applications. We offer a wide range of services, from developing the most efficient and brightest single photon sources to creating algorithms for quantum computers and providing cloud quantum computing solutions.
You will focus on modeling integrated photonic building blocks (BB), which are crucial for Quandela's next-generation quantum photonic processors.
Depending on your experience and the length of the internship, you may work on deepening the understanding of existing building blocks or exploring new functionalities.
This role includes conducting standard electromagnetic simulations (such as FDTD, mode solver, or EME) and/or thermal simulations using commercial software like Lumerical.
Examples of building blocks that may be studied include:
You may also participate in designing layouts for building blocks or test cells for fabrication, utilizing a custom library currently being developed at Quandela, along with tools like gdsfactory and KLayout.
Requirements:
Strong potential for fast career development within a growing highly professional team. Close collaborations with national and international research groups and private companies. Additional benefits include restaurant tickets (Swile) and participation in transportation costs.
