Your Mission as Community Manager:

You will cultivate a vibrant, engaged, and supportive community on Discord that enhances the user experience. You will be responsible for transforming our community into a positive space that encourages open discussion, genuine interactions, and constructive feedback, while strategically managing and promoting our brand’s interests.

You will be working on:

  • HypeDrop— a leading gamified shopping platform, where over 500,000 users experience the excitement of real-time mystery box openings, box battles, and customizable deals. Since 2018, HypeDrop has sold over 150 million boxes, revolutionizing the way people shop and win.

You will:

  • Develop and maintain a well-structured Discord environment to enhance user experience and engagement.
  • Foster open lines of communication with customers, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
  • Identify, hire, and mentor community Helpers and Moderators, empowering them to grow alongside the company.
  • Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages discussions around the product and members' personal interests. Actively address and transform any self-serving behaviors within the community.
  • Regularly gather community feedback and share insights with the broader company to drive improvements and updates.
  • Research and analyze competitor community strategies to identify best practices and opportunities for enhancement. Present actionable insights to foster a thriving community.
  • Plan and promote exciting LiveOps events, generating buzz and enthusiasm across community channels.
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of community sentiments by considering varied opinions while prioritizing the overall health and benefit of the community.
  • Maintain a liberal moderation approach that encourages humor and honest feedback, while controlling the narrative to mitigate negative influences from external sources.
  • Collaborate internally to inject excitement into community initiatives, consistently planning events to keep the community engaged.
  • Measure and assess community sentiment and data metrics to evaluate performance and impact.
  • Once the community is thriving, strategically promote it to attract more members and participants.
  • Implement strategies to keep high-value customers discreet within Discord to safeguard against outreach from competitors.
  • Maintain 24/7 moderation of the chat/Discord to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Organize and announce events clearly to the community, leveraging promotional codes to enhance participation.
  • Share innovative ideas and personal feedback with the broader team, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and transparency.

You will excel in this role if you possess:

  • Proven experience as a Community Manager or similar role, preferably in the gaming or tech industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing online communities, particularly on Discord.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficient in using Discord and community management tools.
  • A genuine passion for community building and user engagement.
  • Ability to remain calm and diplomatic in challenging situations.
  • Familiarity with community analytics and the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to engage with the community and address issues as they arise.
