Applicants should also be familiar with Supreme Court of Arizona Administrative Orders. Persons seeking appointment shall, as part of the appointment application process, furnish a full set of fingerprints to the City.

The completed questionnaire should be sent to the City Magistrate-Merit Selection Commission, c/o City Clerk’s Office, P. O. Box 27210, Tucson, Arizona, 85726-7210 or dropped off at City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 255 W. Alameda, 9th Fl., Tucson, Arizona 85701. Questionnaires will not be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025. The City Magistrate-Merit Selection Commission will make a recommendation to the Mayor and Council. Position Specific Summary
The City Magistrate position at the City of Tucson’s City Court Department is responsible for overseeing a wide range of cases involving violations of city ordinances and certain state laws.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Presiding Magistrate. This position does not supervise.
