AXA Group Operations main activities are to deliver the common IT capabilities supporting all the entities of the Group as well as setting direction on innovation, IT architecture, procurement, and security for all AXA as part of its corporate mandates.

Group Technology Operations (GTO) aims at designing, developing, and operating Global AXA IT products, delivering them to the AXA Group (including AXA operating entities) at the right level of quality of service and cost, and aligned with business-driven priorities. Its missions can be summarized in four main activities: global product delivery, global product portfolio management, day-to-day operations management, and entities proximity management.

Introduction

The Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Technology Operations Officer (Head of GTO, Member of AXA GO ExCom) is a member of his/her leadership team and direct report. He/She provides “right-hand” support to the Group Chief Technology Operations Officer on various responsibilities, ensuring effective communication and execution of decisions, liaising with key stakeholders across the organization.

Main activities

The Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Technology Operations Officer has 5 domains of activities:

  1. Smooth running of the GTO Governance and transversal requests
    • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with him/her and his/her direct reports.
    • Act as a key link and privileged point of contact between GCTOO and members of Leadership Teams (including support functions & markets managers) and act as a funnel filter for information sharing.
    • Manage Leadership Team Meeting: Ensure agenda is well anticipated and aligned with GTO priorities and GO processes, minutes are clear and issued in a timely manner, and decisions are followed up; ensure briefing of GCTOO regarding critical topics/decisions expected, in advance.
    • Prepare GCTOO for ExCom: Ensure ExCom roundtable inputs are prepared and available on time, prior to ExCom and GCTOO receives required documents/briefs in advance. Align with GCTOO on most critical ExCom topics and ensure he receives in advance a short summary highlighting the points on which he needs to react.
    • COO/CIO and CEO dialogues: coordinate GTO process and ensure that elements are provided on time and with high quality and that GCTOO is well briefed in advance of the sessions.
    • Deputy CEO/COO visits: coordinate preparation of GTO inputs for the visits, ensuring elements are provided on time and with quality.
    • Overall support for GTO division organization.
  2. Manage GCTOO Communication plan
    • Define and execute a comprehensive communication plan (including GTO townhalls, Common talks, etc.), targeting both internal and external audiences (LinkedIn), to support strengthening of our strategic alignment and feeling of connection.
    • Coordinate with the Communication department on social media presence and influence.
    • Prepare GCTOO pitches for different events (bullet points & links to examples). Continue to innovate in terms of formats for the GTO townhalls/events.
    • Country visits: Coordinate preparation of country visits, ensuring relevant agenda and that GCTOO receives a briefing pack that is homogeneous in terms of quality across all visits.
    • GTO offsites: Plan and prepare GTO LT offsites, with relevant agendas and ensuring contribution to increased team cohesion and alignment.
  3. Support the Head of Division in the overall performance process
    • Target Letters and YER: ensure GCTOO Target letter is well cascaded to all Heads of, and all Heads of Target Letters are aligned.
    • Coordinate MYR and YER process to ensure a well-prepared and on-time GCTOO YER and inputs for YER discussions of GCTOO with his direct reports (e.g., inputs from Support functions, Pulse results, etc.).
    • Ensure constituency/standardization cross Markets/cross products Department.
  4. Interface with GO support functions on transversal processes
    • Coordinate with Finance to ensure all financial timelines are well respected, reviews happen regularly to ensure budget is well monitored/respected, keeping GTO cost trajectory on track. Quarterly update on GTO T&E.
    • Coordinate with Support functions to ensure specific timelines (e.g., for Risk reporting, IC Annual attestation, Audit) are respected, reviews happen regularly and on time and alerts are raised on time if needed.
  5. Act as the D&I and Employees’ satisfaction referent
    • Coordinate Pulse & Inclusion survey action plans at division level and ensure actions are taken at department level, to ensure eNPS improvement as well as improvements across all dimensions.
    • Ensure more focus on volunteering activities to enable GTO to reach the targets. Week for Good 40% (for 2025), GTO LTM offsite 1 action, N-1 LTM Offsite too, ensure status follow-up with CSR team & regular points in the LTM.
  6. Manage/Coordinate specific projects
    • Manage specific projects/initiatives/streams allocated by the GCTOO (e.g., EmpowHER, TDO4GO initiatives, AI for GTO).

Profile:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, IT, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior role, preferably within the technology or operations sector. Experience in a Chief of Staff role or similar is highly desirable.

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the insurance industry and its operational dynamics. Familiarity with AXA's business model and strategic objectives is a plus.
