As they expand globally, they are seeking a dynamic Chief Commercial Officer to drive commercial strategy, accelerate international growth, and position the company as a market leader in the space and defense industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Business Development
- Define and execute a sales strategy aligned with global expansion objectives.
- Accelerate market penetration in key regions including the United States, Europe, and Asia.
- Develop targeted, sector-specific approaches for defense, space agencies, satellite operators, international institutions, and insurance.
- Manage and optimize a complex sales cycle, from lead qualification to contract negotiation with public and private stakeholders.
Key Account Management & Business Growth
- Identify and convert high-value business opportunities with strategic customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in organizations such as NASA, ESA, CNES, and major space and defense companies.
- Lead contract negotiations and deal closures for high-value, long-term engagements.
- Drive strategic partnerships to strengthen market positioning and commercial reach.
Sales Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Build, structure, and lead a growing sales team.
- Implement effective sales processes, KPIs, and CRM systems to maximize efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure strong alignment between commercial, product, technical, and marketing teams.
- Educate internal teams on commercial processes to support long-term growth.
Key Requirements:
- Proven background in sales and business development in the space sector.
- Proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals with institutional and industrial clients.
- Strong network within the space and defense ecosystem, particularly in Europe and/or the United States.
- Understanding of technical and regulatory challenges related to SSA, STM, and space surveillance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute international business development strategies.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic vision and ability to anticipate market trends.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with high-level decision-makers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and inspire a high-performance team.
- Resilience, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
- Significant international experience with the ability to work across time zones.
- Willingness to travel frequently across Europe and the United States.
- Ideally based in Paris, but open to candidates across Europe willing to travel.
