Head of IT OT Infrastructure Operations & Engineering – 6374 URA

Position Overview :

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a Head of IT OT in Infrastructure Operations and Engineering for a project based service until the end of the year, which can be done remotely from anywhere in Europe . The ideal candidate will have similar experience with fluency in English and German .

Main Responsibilities :

• Provide senior-level IT infrastructure management and leadership within the Global IT Infrastructure landscape.
• Lead the Global IT OT Infrastructure Operations & Engineering team in delivering end-to-end technical design and delivery services.
• Oversee Data Center, Server, Storage & Backup, and Network (LAN, WAN, Firewall, Voice services).
• Drive execution of the strategic agenda and roadmap for business performance and technical progression.
• Ensure stability, integrity, and business continuity of services.
• Ensure services are delivered according to agreed SLAs and business needs.
• Collaborate with IT Leadership and stakeholders to align IT investments with business requirements.
• Champion technical excellence, automation, and innovation within infrastructure systems.
• Maintain well-documented standards and procedures for scalable technical solutions.
• Oversee Infrastructure Engineering projects to meet goals, timelines, and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with Security and Compliance policies within IT Infrastructure scope.
• Foster a collaborative culture that enables change and encourages high performance.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Relevant working / residency permit or Swiss / EU-Citizenship required.
• 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
• Bachelors or Masters in IT.
• Technical experience with VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Linux Server, Storage, and Backup.
• Expertise in network architecture, routing, switching, and security.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and Software-Defined Networking.
• Experience with security hardening and best practices.
• Experience working with globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Strong relationship management with service providers.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of leadership.
• Proven experience in simplification, standardization, and automation.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions.
• Experience in large, multi-national organizations.

Location : EU Remote (potential travel to Basel Tower as required)
