Job Description

At Salomon, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the world of sport and outdoor performance. As a leader in the industry, we continuously refine our product and assortment strategy to meet the evolving needs of our customers. To support this mission, we are looking for a Merchandising Tools & Data Specialist to enhance our decision-making processes and optimize our merchandising operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Carry out analysis, recommendations, and support for all aspects of product & assortment strategy:

    • Conduct product lifecycle data reviews, comparing sell-in and sell-out performance.

    • Monitor the efficiency of assortments per channel across all categories.

    • Drive range construction choices to ensure an optimized product offering.

    • Provide overall monitoring of key franchises and iconic products.

    • Support merchandising teams in utilizing relevant tools within their scope.

  2. Provide strategic recommendations to support the merchandising team:

    • Design and implement tools that support each stage of the product development process (I2P), ensuring smooth workflows and effective decision-making.

    • Analyze data to anticipate risks and opportunities, allowing for proactive adjustments.

    • Develop tools that enhance collaboration and alignment between regional and global teams, ensuring consistency in merchandising strategies and seamless communication.

  3. Develop and standardize tools to streamline merchandising processes and enable data-driven responses to market trends:

    • Create and consolidate a unified set of tools to be applied consistently across all product categories and at each stage of the merchandising process.

    • Act as a bridge between commercial operations, demand planning, and finance to align cross-functional priorities and facilitate integrated decision-making.

    • Develop tools and processes that enable quick analysis and adaptation to changing market dynamics.

    • Translate business model evolution into clear merchandising requirements and actionable insights.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset.

  • Proficiency in merchandising tools and processes.

  • Experience in product lifecycle analysis, assortment efficiency, and range construction.

  • Ability to create and implement strategic tools to support decision-making and collaboration.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally between teams.

  • A strong understanding of the fashion, sports, and wholesale industries is essential.

  • Familiarity with product range logic and assortment structuring is highly valued.
