The IRO function has been established across Danone at the end of 2021, after being piloted in the SN category since 2017. Its key roles and responsibilities are:

  • Pipeline management: To equip categories / key functions involved in innovation with consistent pipeline visibility and analytics from IPROview to help them achieve their respective innovation targets (e.g. sufficiency, business cases, adherence to product thresholds).
  • Governance: To facilitate the cross-functional innovation governance (Marketing, R&I, Sales, Operations, Finance, Regs, QFS) and decision-making.
  • Project Management: To support Categories/Marketing in the cross-functional project management of mainly complex projects.
  • Method: To ensure the innovation methodology and stage-gating are adhered to.

We are looking for a Dairy Pipeline Manager to join our IRO team.

This CDD will take place in Gif-sur-Yvette (91), in our global Research & Innovation center, as soon as possible for a fixed period of 12 months.

As a strategic function, globally, IRO teams report to the CMDO (Chief Marketing and Digital Officer, Paris HQ), and regional/local IPRO teams (with an added P for Productivity) report to Operations.

Your main responsibilities will focus on:

  • Strategic Management and Innovation

Help stakeholders to focus on fewer, better, and bolder sustainable innovations that are profitable and scalable through threshold adherence tracking. Support the deployment of the Scale up by design model and ensure the pipeline aligns with the company's growth equation and strategic mandates.

  • Community Engagement and Digital Transformation

Maintain close ties with marketing/brand/project teams within global/zone/CBU governance forums. Engage and animate the global, zone & local Dairy IRO pipeline community, driving best practice sharing. Engage countries and zones teams to ensure data quality in iPROview. Leverage digital transformation tools for real-time monitoring, dashboards, analytics, and co-pilot.

  • Analysis and Reporting

Curate project & programme structures under the global dairy category together with CBUs & Zones. Prepare analysis on various aspects of the category, such as threshold adherence, profitability by brand and country, and performance of launched innovations. Use Power BI for analysis and global dashboard creation; Provide an overview of global category analytics through for multiple governance bodies.

What success looks like?

  • Improved data integrity (completeness & accuracy) in the innovation system
  • Increased average project size & reduction of # of projects
  • Increased proportion of multi-country projects
  • Increased proportion of projects within defined thresholds (e.g. incremental net sales & profitability)

Team & stakeholders

  • One direct report (internship)
  • Four peers, three dedicated to the other company categories & one for data & analytics
  • Key Global stakeholders to engage: Global Dairy VPs / Directors / Managers across functions (mostly Innovation, Marketing, Brand, Finance)
  • Key Zone/Local stakeholders to engage: Dairy Zones / Country Innovation & Finance teams
  • Travel: less than 10%

About You

The criteria below remain indicative. A candidate who has a different combination of experience and skills could also be considered.

  • Min 5 years of work experience (ideally on FMCG, Marketing, Strategy, and/or Finance)
  • Proven experience in managing complex x-functional set-ups, including global, zone & local teams
  • Good blend of strong analytical skills and ability to engage with storytelling (written and oral)
  • Self-motivated, able to find their way around independently through strong networking skills
  • Digitally-savvy with digital transformation experience, data analytics, PowerBI, Co-pilot (Microsoft AI)
