CAREER ADVISOR

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Employment Services Manager, the Career Advisor will be responsible for:
- Providing career and employment-related guidance, career development assistance, and labour market information to Métis individuals.
- Providing follow-up assistance to individuals.
- Maintaining the computerized client database information and initiating follow-up reports.
- Managing a high caseload of clients.
- Liaising with business and industry.
- Partnership development.
- Efficient and effective application of programs and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Travel is a requirement of the position.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant Bachelor’s Degree combined with related work experience or equivalent educational qualifications and work experience.
- A minimum of two years experience in the delivery of services in training and/or employment.
- Highly effective administrative skills.
- The ability to prioritize caseloads/deadlines and manage time effectively.
- A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff and other agencies.
- Extensive understanding of Métis culture and the employment and training needs of the Métis.
- An excellent understanding of labour market issues and trends within Saskatchewan.
- A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to facilitate any required travel within the Region/Province.
Term:
June 2025 to March 31, 2029 (subject to successful completion of six month probationary period)
