The client

We are partnered with an international leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) with expertise in developing and manufacturing complex biopharmaceuticals. Their primary focus areas include therapeutic proteins and viral vectors, with services supporting monoclonal antibodies, multi-specific proteins, as well as viral vectors for vaccines, gene therapy, and cell therapies.

They are seeking a Business Development Manager to identify and secure new business opportunities within the protein and antibody manufacturing service line.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with new international customers with GMP protein and antibody projects.
  • Service Promotion: Actively commercialize the company’s advanced services in protein development, analysis, and manufacturing.
  • Represent the company at global conferences, trade shows, and industry events to strengthen networks and broaden the company’s presence.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships, offering customized solutions to meet client needs and overcoming development challenges.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and provide insights that shape business strategies.
  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure alignment between business development activities and technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field (PhD is a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience in business development in a CDMO or biopharmaceutical environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical-stage manufacturing and large molecules within the biopharmaceutical industry, including cell line development, cell banking, GMP Manufacturing, and Biosimilars.
  • Proven track record in acquiring and managing international clients, particularly for complex projects.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
